Kenwood KFC-P707 280 Watt Component Speaker Package

I just got these component speakers installed in my Subaru WRX. I had to make spacers to fit them in, a Subaru design flaw, not the Kenwood’s. As far as sound goes, they have an extremely clear and transparent sound. You can hear subtle things in the CD’s you never noticed before. They simply blow away the stock ones they replaced. Word of caution; You could definitely damage your hearing with these if you get carried away with the volume knob. I have them running off a Kenwood CD player with 22 watts RMS. They would only sound better I’m sure, if you used a separate amp. There is little to no distortion at high volume levels. The bass goes down very low for a 6.5in woofer. I had to bring down the treble controls to almost flat because the tweeters are so bright. I had researched quite a bit before purchasing these, and picked the over a set of MB Quart components because of the magazine reviews. I am overall very satisfied with these speakers. Gave them only 4/5 stars because I have heard better, but not by much. Kenwood makes a great product!
